Day of Rest

Lachie's got a bit of a cold or something so had a day off school (he must be sick to agree to that!)
The kids shared some of his lemon-honey drink (before he went and slept all afternoon, snoring so loud you could hear him with the door closed!) Cheers!

And Eden wanted to dress up as a fairy today...something else she gets from her big sister! I have to drop Lily off quickly at dancing (or not take Eden) as she's also learnt tantrums and really wants to go to dancing!

Weekend...

While Lachie was at Jesse's birthday party, we visited Nannie and
Grand-da...and their climbing frame (scaffolding!) Don't give Eden any ideas!Eden's already got the idea!
A good shot of how well her lip's healed...
Had a great time at Grandmalana's 60th Saturday night, perfect neighbours, even when we told them our plans for Sunday...
Here's before (we kept it well swept for a week!)
During...(turns out you're not a good jack-hammerer at 4foot10!)
Kids wanted to hang out by all the action...
And after...

Oh the Faces!

Some of the faces of Eden while having our picnic dinner at the park...
And who's idea was it to give the kids ice-creams in the car????

Ah yes...at least he did te clean up!

Our Friend...

All the caterpillars off our swan plants have been "disappearing" when it comes time to change into their chrysalis - we haven't found many, but over the weekend we found one on the fort, well away from the swan plants, and another one found the first (Lily's convinced a Monarch butterfly carried the caterpillar over to his friend).

All weekend we were watching the second one, waiting for it to change into a chrysalis, we watched for 2 days, then it did it when we weren't watching yesterday at teatime :(

Anyway, the first one just hatched. The kids watched it drying it's wings, then start running around and finally take off.

Lily got a bit worried during the running and jumping stage... Now we wait for the second one (and try and track the half a dozen fat caterpillars that will be going on vacation any day!)

Haumoana Farmyard Zoo

Since there was no school today (thanks MoE!) the kids and I wanted something fun to do (after shopping!)...
The Haumoana Farmyard Zoo was just the place, and suprisingly not busy today.
This cow is so cute!
Lily found a "reindeer"
And she loved these geese in their "dancing dresses" - one was even singing to her (we'd run out of food by then- they were actually cursing us!)
Eden just wanted one of everything!
So much to see!
This goat was a real comedian
And here is Lily telling off the huge Captain Cooker Pig for not sharing the food with all his babies! (She just went on and on...I even got a video of some of her lecture, bit hard to hear her though) Now they all want a possum too...
Other kids were on the ponies, so this had to do!

My Replacement...

Demolition was going really well after day one, til first thing Saturday when I stood on a nail - pretty bad (and 17 years overdue for a tetnus booster!) so I figured Mike would need something equally as strong to replace me!

Here he is Saturday morning...and here he is Sunday morning (I was such a big help! - I just said the magic words..."let's get a digger!")Our neighbour Grand-dad Tom, a loader driver, also helped a lot on Sunday. Eden slept right through the shed coming down (actually, so did our other neighbours Matt and Phil!), when she got up she looked out and said "oh oh"; Matt got up 3 hours later and just said "oh, the shed's gone". Everytime someone was on the digger Eden was calling out "go go go".

And what do you think of the video?!!! The kids have been watching it on the computer a lot! They were also allowed a little bit of a turn...

And true to the plan (being getting the digger to replace an injured me) I pulled the playhouse round the front!

Now, if I hadn't just had a birthday, guess what I'd be asking for! It was so much fun! What can we pull down next???

Easter Egg Hunting

Eden's had a taste of chocolate and now she's ready to go - you can tell because she's found her favourite hat! We can take photos of her now, after our trip to Wellington, not only did I forget my memory card for my camera, but Eden ended up in hospital having her top lip stitched in theatre in Hutt Hospital. Not much bothers her though - just the 12 hours without food! After surgery she didn't stop eating for days!
That Easter Bunny hid eggs EVERYWHERE with picture clues in each spot to tell the kids where to look next!
Even Easter eggs in the playhouse!
More choc...
Now here's Eden ready for bed - been a long, chocolatey day!
No chance Lachie would be sick of chocolate!
And Lily's a chocolate fan too!
