Last Holiday Day

Mike took charge for the morning and had it all planned out last night...except it was a bit "misty" (but not raining apparently) this morning so plans changed a bit...instead of breakfast at the skate park, it was breakfast in the car at the skate park...But the rest of the play went to plan! They were back an hour later, "damp" (not wet) but ready for a warm shower!

Spending the rest of the day finishing off all those things Mike said he'd do while on holiday - we have planted 4 feijoa trees (very excited kids here) and cordyline's around the deck; got the last (hopefully) of the stormwater finished; had Bella over to play; gone for a walk two doors down to the kids favourite "shop" (this week - Mr Mills' gateside vege stand, feijoa's and pumpkins); finshed off the last of the Easter chocolate thanks to Aunty Lindsay (with no more teeth coming out like last year! - a couple of wiggly ones though...); and made a feijoa cake (just to go with the theme!)...and still half a day to go!

Currently they're all "secretly" making a tent city in Lachie's room! Except I'm not supposed to know about it!

Taupo

Baby bunnies!

That sign DOES say "tow us please dad"!
Feeding what Eden kept calling the "fancy sheep"...
Craters of the Lake from up high...
We stocked up on lots of tasty honeys...they make a ginger honey now - well worth the trip!

Getting the ducks to eat off the kids' feet... Lily got very excited when the ducks started coming closer...
Maybe we should go to the indoor pools then Lily...

Ring-a-ring-a-rosie...
Eden copying Lachie's swimming lessons...
The expert swimmer...

Eden's Half Birthday Cupcakes

A few days late, but we waited for a rainy day (and til we were over the last chocolate days at Easter!).

Then all the wet weather gear came out for a walk next door to give a plate of cupcakes to Grandmalana and Grand-dad Tom who had Livvy and Russell for the day. (And there's still some left..if you're quick!)

Even a special appearance by the Incredible Hulk who showed his mighty strength!
Mike's on holiday this week, so we're heading to Taupo tomorrow, fingers crossed for nice weather...

First Week of the Holidays

It's just gone so quickly! Easter was a bit of a write-off project-wise, but Lachie's new unit finally got made, and loaded up!I did most of the painting while the kids were in bed and Mike was at work, but there was one part they could help with!
(And it's nearly HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHED!)

Lily designed this outfit...but found after an hour or so that it was a bit hard to keep pulling up while riding her bike! We went to the Aquarium for Eden's two and a half birthday (any excuse!).
And the boys on their bikes...
Next week Mike's on holiday so we can do so much more WITHOUT him falling asleep, yay!!

***ALSO***
I'm deciding whether or not to continue with this blog as it keeps running out of bandwidth or something (not exactly sure?). I'll either be making up a new address if there's enough people interested or I could just use Facebook for photos (at the moment I only put a couple a month on there).
Let us know what you think...I have no idea who's reading this half the time!
Thanks!

Easter Concert

What it was like here after all that chocolate!

And it got crazier! It's all on a DVD for the kids in the car...

Easter So Far...

Well the weekend started as a disaster...Mike spent 31 of the first 34 hours asleep! (that's from getting home at midnight Thursday - early night as they weren't allowed to work any of Good Friday - until late morning yesterday).
Here's how Lachie came home from school on Thursday...(a big kid painted his face)
So, Friday's building plans finally got underway yesterday afternoon. Lily took this photo of Lachie undercoating his drawers... Then this morning was the great Treasure hunt. My highlight of Easter has been Lachie telling me that the Easter Bunny's really good at drawing! (Considering I drew the clues late last night with a patch over an infected eye!)
Searching for "treasure" (including marbles, fluffy chicks and chocolate with the next clue), even outside
Lachie, who has been without chocolate among the other things he's intollerant to, has made his own decisions - will be easy for us to figure out the effects of chocolate soon! You can understand why he's going a bit crazy on the trampoline right now!
Lily was last to start as she loves all the foil wrappings, she's made more artworks than eaten chocolate so far today!
This one's called "wrapping up the Easter chicks" or something like that...And just look at this face!
Although for quite a while all Eden wanted to do was play with all the bunnies - spot the chocolate one!
And now she's wrapped herself up in our bed with a bowl of apple...

And two funny things...the kids didn't actually get ANY Easter eggs (but enough chocolate bunnies and chicks to not notice) AND Mike's got a real hunt on his hands (when he comes back to life that is) when he goes looking for his Easter egg from the kids and me...I hid it weeks ago when I bought it and can't remember where I put it!

And now, back to the building...hopefully not by myself!
