Christmas Parade

All dressed up, ready for the Christmas Parade. Another hot sunny day, just like last year!

The little girls didn't have to walk this year, just smile and wave girls, smile and wave...

Technically they could have worn shorts! The kilts were only seen while shopping afterwards!
The big girls doing with their amazing poi, they're so good!

Lachie took this shot (just before smudging the lens for the other photos, opps!), Cooper waved very hard (I hard to be careful not to fall over he was waving so hard!) as the floats went by

Then water, water and more water for the afternoon, with Zara too. Then the girls made schnitzel while the boys made salad. Dinner was great, followed by chocolate and sprinkle dipped strawberries an icecream for later!

Roll on more summer!

The last few weeks...

Getting ready for Christmas, some sewing one Sunday morning

After a morning stuck inside making Buzz Lightyear, a big trip to the park was needed!

Lily's having some trouble sleeping...but when she does, some of the poses are photo-worthy to show her in the morning!

Luke's birthday party! Cooper, with Lachie's help, giving Buzz his coloring competition prepared earlier in exchange for a party bag

Luke ran up to Buzz and gave him a big hug when he arrived, it was so cute! Buzz took the kids on an obstacle course around the park, ending with roly poly's and cartwheels!

And I didn't do the cake! Amanda made a wonderful cake, iced it in light blue, all I had to add were the fairy floss clouds, Buzz and the name plaque!

Then after some shopping, and splashing around with Sophie, we went out to the farm for the afternoon. Eden meeting Goldie

Plenty of cuddles! Wonder how big she'll be in a month, and whether she'll remember Eden!

Lily rescued this gecko from TinTin the cat (she told everyone at school she had tuatara blood all over her hands, was a wee bit of gecko blood!)

Lachie's class is doing restaurants this week. Lachie and his group were first up on Monday, cooking four courses for 6 class guests (after the groups had designed their menus, they could choose which restaurant they wanted to go to). Lachie was in charge of the brownie.

Their restaurant was called the Cowboy Cafe and they served popcorn, crumbed chicken and bacon rolls, brownie, strawberry smoothies and ginger beer.

The guests ate on the stage at lunchtime with a lot of onlookers!

Then after school Lachie made another brownie for Grand-da's birthday.

He got to light the candles too

Followed by traffic light ice blocks! So glad there so much more than lemonade ice blocks around for summer with natural colorings!!!

The next day was Cooper's half birthday...two and a half!! Although he tried to convince me that he's 15! two and a half candles to blow out before morning tea

A bit of icing sugar...then headed up to Hastings to buy a new Christmas tree! It's up and decorated, photos on another post...

And tonight after swimming we headed to Kingfisher Gifts in Waipawa where the fabulous Kiri and Meredith are having a massive fundraiser shopping night, still an hour left if you want to go! Santa was genuinely lovely, gave the kids a present each and a lollypop and happily posed for photos (look at my shy, cautious baby on his knee, easy!). We bought some gorgeous decorations (new tree=more space!). Well done ladies!

Dancing and Driving

Some dancing from the show today. Eden in Lily's kilt, and Lily in a borrowed one (their new ones are on order, from UK via Canada!)

And the lilt, which they've only been learning for a couple of weeks. Plus some sword dancing to end the display. Plus a medal each to add to the collection!

Followed by some crazy driving! The stories that Lachie and Lily were making up as they went around...hilarious! And Grand-da let Eden drive! Cooper was very keen, but a bit weary of all the people watching!

Followed by ice creams and hot chips (for Daddy's birthday), then home before it rained to Skype (for Daddy's birthday), followed by one of Daddy's favourite meals (for Daddy's birthday)!!!

And happy birthday Aunty Kate and Annalise too!!!

Bike Riding

The day after Eden's party, Lachie, Lily, Eden, Toby and Daddy going for a bile ride.

And not related to bike riding, but look who we found in the shed! Maybe Australian spiders aren't the biggest!! Yip, that's a standard size Bobby pin (I reached into my pocket for a coin for size comparison, but all I had was this!). After we showed the neighbors, he had to die...for everyone's safety. Sorry spider.

Birthday Party Day!

Long time since Monday, and Eden's been really looking forward to today! Mostly catching up with special people we haven't seen for 3 months! She's been designing and redesigning her cake for months...rainbow, lots of pink, pink flowers, bluebirds, so many ideas...and after smoothing concrete for a day, buttercream rose-swirl icing seemed more fun! 6 layer chocolate cake (but only two batches, and plenty of offcuts that didn't go to waste!) apparently two of the hardest cakey things, graduated colour icing, and peonies...I'm always up for a challenge or two!

I don't think the colours have photographed well, it was more pinky...) Yummy raspberry and white chocolate muffins on the side, with a few decorations to match

I had to do something while watching last nights game! I was soooooo thankful that the All Blacks beat the Wallabies in the semi final, it would have been really hard to have an Aussie themed party the day after and AB bronze final and the day before an Aussie final...yay All Blacks! We didn't take down the 7 All Black flags we have out the front, even though I hung an Australian flag on the gate for the afternoon!

The party had to be moved from the "planned paved party place" to the back porch as we had typical Labour Weekend weather!

Another sparkler 5! (that's all I brought back, now I wish I'd brought heaps back!)

The glorious chorus!

And the part the birthday girl has been waiting for! Eden did a great job of cutting right down one side of the cake!

The pop the balloon game is always fun, harder though in a confined space!

Wahoo, mini chocolate bars all round! And Eden wearing the dress she designed, she really wanted an Australia flag dress (so I bought a large cotton tea towel) but I was worried I would have time to make a dress, so we also went shopping at Myers! I got the dress finished (with a broken bobbin no less, which made it very hard) then she decided she didn't want to wear it...until bike riding time, very hard to wear a maxi dress and ride a bike! So that explained change one, change two was just because Aunty Cathie's been clothes shopping!

Great day, no rain, awesome company, pretty tasty food, if I do say so myself! And now Toby's staying the night, very exciting!

And great news, now I've caught you all up, even blogged TODAY'S photos, TODAY!!!
