And Lachie for this one!

Christmas Day 2010

The kids REALLY believed there was a pony asleep standing up in front of the Christmas tree for THREE HOURS until it was present time (three hours from their wake up time from 5.30am, that had been there all night!) But really it was....
....Lachie's new gear bike! Although, Lily DID try and tell us pony's can't be quiet or still for that long! And they were going to leave it happily asleep except Cooper knocked the cover off the front corner!
Cooper LOVES this part, he didn't sit so still while we read about the real Christmas Story, and sometimes the celotape wouldn't co-operate with him!
Right Lachie, I think Santa's trying to tell you something!
Santa also has great taste in jewellery This one's been taking up quite a bit of space in our wardrobe for a while, so Eden was very anxious to open it up...exciting! (A candy floss machine!)
Tutu cute Eden!
Cooper's happy with his stash of little things (to which he already knows the names, and the difference between a bulldozer and a front loader!)
Off for a walk/bike/run/sleep!
Lunch!
Eden bought Lily some eye shadow and she HAD to try it out on anyone sitting still...hmmmm, not really my colour darling! (And luckily Mum and Dad gave me some fancy make-up remover wipes...just in time!) Excuse the head-cold/chest infestion look of me :(
Cooper with the cool little car that Lachie bought for him
Lachie's been changing his mind between wanting a gear bike and a motorbike for months...not that it was ever HIS choice! He did get to try out Jons though...for one day!
Getting the band started!Something's funny!
And lastly a shot of the finished Christmas cake the kids did...
So much more to say, but will leave you with this (if you haven't seen it via e-mail)...it's a scanned version of one of the Christmas cards we made. The kids did all the cutting and pasting (and spelling!) and chose their own poses for the photos! (since this is scanned you can't tell that it's actually 3d with the presents sticking out from the photo)

Hope you all had a great Christmas, I look forward to hearing all about it! Enjoy the last week of 2010 - we've got heaps planned!

Christmas Eve teaser...

Just before going to bed (after getting all the presents from Mummy and Daddy out of our wardrobe that have been in there wrapped but uncovered for weeks and piling them round the tree then waking the kids up to take them to see all the Chirstmas lights in the dark, to put them back to bed after rearranging Santa and reindeers snacks and drinks)...I did this!(If you can't read it, it says "Shhhh, don't wake the pony" on a very large pony-shaped present right in front of the tree, covered in black cloths..........)

Summer Fun

Spent the morning at Fantasy Cave, followed by Subway and duck feeding/chasing. Back in time to see Mary Kippenberger at the library. The afternoon was then dedicated to relaxing and cooling down...
What are you going to do Lachie???
A circus act! Of course!
Go Eden!
Anytime there's a camera..."cheeeeese"
Can you do a bigger cheese Cooper?
Eden having a "cheeeeeese" moment too...
Sometimes I'm just soooo lucky!

Daytrip to Wellington

Stopped at the park in Pahiatua in case it was raining further down the line, looked pretty dodgy but wasn't too bad.
Lachie and I having an idea.........................
First stop was to visit Sophie and Kate...and have cuddles!
Which one's the little baby again?
Then onto Rachel's for the afternoon with her, Toby and James...and Jada!
Who can thankfully run faster than all the kids! And we got to see Aunty Jayne too.
Dinner at Amanda and Ron's followed by stories with Luke and JacobAnd best seats in the house for a Skype chat with Emily, who's coming to visit us early next year!
Home just before midnight...so great to do the Christmas rounds and see almost everyone (drop off all the pressies anyway!).

Cake Decorators

Kids were left in charge of icing the Christmas cake for Nannie and Grand-da...
Well, 3 of them iced and decorated the cakes, the other one was just a little monkey!
Winner outfit!
Incidently, Eden's last day of kindy, Lachie and Lily made pizza for lunch (and following day's lunch) completely unassisted and then went on to make shortbread cookies which were later decorated with melted chocolate and given away as presents.

Feeding the Ducks

As school and Kindy ended we decided to go to Hastings to do a bit of shopping, have dinner out and feed the ducks at Cornwall Park...Lachie's getting a bit daring!
Cooper LOVES it, probably because it involved running and throwing!

Can't wait to go back with togs one hot day!
