Goodbye Julie

Final dance for Julie; no music, uneven ground, very well done girls! Julie looked so impressed!

Guard of Honour for a very special lady. Julie Appleton-Seymore came into our lives four years ago when Lily pleaded to go to ballet classes. She became a huge part of our family and will be missed so much by all of us.

RIP Julie XXX

Triathlon Season!

The kids at the end of their school triathlons.
Eden did the whole thing with her friend...and loved he first triathlon

Lily did the whole thing with a huge smile...

And Lachie was super proud of his 7th...until he worked out that that was for y5 and 6, out of the year 5's he's the youngest and came 2nd! The 10km bike ride to school was pretty good training!

Bring on the Go Kidz, the Ironkids and the next WeetBix Tryathlon!

Ironkid

Lachie competed in his first Ironkid Triathlon Race on Sunday in Napier. His time was 17.17 minutes, but he thinks he could easily shave 5 minutes off (the top time of his age group!)...we'll see in the final race huh!

Bike Race

About to start the CHB Primary Schools Championships Race (well, not the littlest guy!). 9km road race around Otane. All did soooooooo well, especially those two without gears, little wheels and little legs!

I wonder if it's possible to buy 16" bikes with gears??? Lachie's loving all 21 of his!

Our Big NINE Year Old!

Birthday dinner followed by this...designed entirely by Lily and Eden...three flavours or ice-cream made into a cake (feijoa, chocolate with white choc chunks and vanilla with crunchy chunks), and topped with nine candles, obviously!

Sorry, I put the birthday and party photos onto the computer then deleted off my camera so can't share many til (a rare day!) I Fire up the old computer again...but here's the proud kid on one of his presents!

The cake of Lego for a Lego party...nah, it's pretty Lachie-friendly...white choc mud cake with vanilla buttercream, except after this its gluten-free us for a while (or forever!)

Plenty of Lego challenges, a quiz, competitions and playing. Let's all sing as loud as we can! A pretty exhausting day considering we did a few hours of mud sliding in the morning, party all afternoon that rolled into fish 'n chips and a movie with some of the boys. And ended with spots! (Not itchy ones, but three days later a trip to the chemist confirmed Lachie's second dose of chicken pox, a mild dose though). Waiting to see if anyone else gets them round here!

And my little Valentine the following day :)

Lily's Tea Party

Lily's seventh birthday party, a tea party with a black, white and pink theme...first up was for the girls (and Lachie) to design and decorate their own place mats. Lily wanted to read Eden's new book Poo Bum, totally appropriate...yeah right!

Pretty Eden!

Then after some more play and some more dancing, it was time to eat!

Cheers! Pink punch! (Cranberry, guava, apple and lemonade)

Cake time! Seven layers of white chocolate mud cake with boysenberry buttercream (my favourite invention to date!)

And seven blows to get all the candles blown out!

Off to dance again, will cut and eat it later!

Honey got decorated again! Kitty had a pink and black bow too

Dancing...

Dancing...(musical statues this time)

And obviously there would be some highland practice happening!

And another round of balloon pop...no cheating Lachie! Pinky bars all round!

Such a great way to spend a Saturday! Plenty of shattered girls went home this afternoon! And four children here (plus Zara) went tearing round the park before dinner!
And lets do it all over again in a couple of weeks, just not so girly!

Peek-a-boo!

BUT MY CAT LIKES TO HIDE IN...THE DISHWASHER!

Note 1. NOT my cat, Eden's, temporarily!
Note 2. Not exactly hiding, more licking the bowl directly above him
Note 3. My latest invention, boysenberry buttercream is absolutely and totally DEVINE, even the cat thinks so!

Holidays...

The (in)famous cake! It's dairy free, gluten free and sugar free, including the icing! Meant we could have just corn on the cob for dinner with big slices of cake to follow!! (as it is full of zucchini, carrots and apple!)
Two candles, one for Tracey and one for Max...happy birthday!

Lachie's mastered many things, brownie is still his favourite! And he can do pretty good scones too! Even while teaching his own apprentice! Now, to teach him how to enjoy the cleaning up!!

And so sad I missed out on going to Perth for Skip and Suz's wedding...here's something I made for them! Modeled by terrible sleep actors!

Glow Bath!

Cool idea...black out the bathroom, run a huge bubble bath, add four kids and a pile of glow sticks! Mum puts feet up for 10 minutes!!!

Then try and figure out camera settings to take cooler photos!
