Lachie's Superhero Party

Lachie wanted a flying Superman cake...sure it can be done!
Found one third of the kids having cake under the rocket ship - although you wouldn't have known there was 18 kids (mostly boys) at our house without their parents, they were so good, especially when the adults were having lunch! With Hayley, who brought her new baby sister Zara to visit, so cute!
And Lachie became the Incredible Hulk for a while too!
Thanks Aunty Jayne, this arrived just in time as Lachie started wondering how long it would take til 11 o'clock when the kids were arriving! Very successful day, heaps of fun (but Lachie was a bit disappointed when I told him his next party was 364 days away - I think he's going to count down!)

Lachie's 6th Birthday

Lachie got up early with the girls and uncovered a pile of presents...because he had to wait until Daddy woke up before he could start, he gave each one a good poke, shake and smell! Then the opening could begin! He was most impressed - which was good as Eden and I had so much fun doing the shopping and Lily had done almost all the wrapping!

With Lachie at school and Lily at kindy (which Eden's been loving for the last 2 weeks, she's really enjoyed having the whole house and me to herself!) we made icing...

Lachie had to wait til Grand-da got back from down south til he could open presents number 4 to 6 (after opening numbers 1 to 3 with Nannie after school) - Here is number 6...very impressed and even more impressed that it's been "hiding" since last November in anticipation!
We nearly had to do this without a camera after mine was stolen out of our car the other night (along with the DVD players and our big CD wallet), but we managed to borrow Dad's camera for the "special occasion!"

Hot HB Day

Perfect day to take on Splash Planet!
Eden just chilling...

Lily, ever the poser!

Lachie dared to do anything and everything...

Lily would like one of these castles in the yard, please Daddy!
Lachie was allowed to drive, and got the hang of the bumping
And Lily danced her way round the river (where we spent the most time)
Bit cheeky too!
Mike drew the short straw and got two kids in the kayak
I managed quite well with only one!

Sandpit in the Making

The sand in the old sandpit's been turned into concrete in preparation for the new one...but first Mike made the first of the planter boxes (full of dirt and just as good to play in!)
And Eden thinks she's sorted with her fluffy earmuffs on!
Sandpit's finished (except for the lids), waiting for the sand debate on facebook to finalise what we fill it with!

Waitangi Day

Mike worked for the morning, so I took Lachie and the girls to the skate park with his roller blades, pretty cool!
Lots of zooming!
And climbing on things to say cheese! Then after Nannie and Grand-da came for lunch, they told Lachie it was time to cut down the "beanstalk" as he calls it; and yes, he has tried climbing up!

Now it's drying...some to eat, some to plant next year

Beading

We had a rainy day (yay said the vege garden!) so while Eden slept, Lily got on with some beading (btw: she asked me to do her hair like that!)

Concentration...

And see the necklace and bracelets on the table - she made them first, one of the bracelets is really cool and Lily said I can wear it next time I go shopping (and I will!)Another finished product (thanks Ella and Lucy for these beads)

Lily Mermaid

Thanks Aunty Lindsay! Lily only got it this afternoon, but I can see it's going to be on everyday for a while (just like the dancing skirt from Christmas!)

Happy 4th Birthday Lily!

Lily wanted a penguin party...but mermaids were allowed to come too!
A few of her presents...
Lily had already made bracelets to go in the party bags for her friends to take home...now she's completely restocked to make more jewellery!
And a bit of help starting the opening of each present...
The cake - "had to have the blue jelly water so the mermaid didn't get cold 'cos mermaids don't like just ice and then it needs a sun to make the ice melt into the water" - bit of a penguin expert here!
(If you can't read it, it says "Lily is un-four-gettable")
Lily blew out the candles one at a time to drag things out as long as possible! Party games - pass the parcel...Chuck the water balloons in the buckets...And heaps of water! It was hot today (not 39 like yesterday thank goodness) but windy, the wind died down for a few hours JUST for Lily's party! Made a great start to using the new deck!

And she's already started planning how she wants to cover her school books next year! (We've been doing Lachie's)
