Busy Weekend

Another busy building day...
Here's Lachie securing the masonary bolts into the concrete...
Lily fixing her hair while footing the ladder for Daddy...
And I managed to clad the whole front ALONE, AND while cooking dinner! Ok, so Mike did all the heavy stuff and the roof - but neither of us could have done this alone! It was also my job to read the plans and instructions and get them followed!
Look what I bought at the art auction last night...very cool, Jules Clarke!

And I was sooooo surprised to see what my pieces went for, one went for over $100 and another $85...these are paintings that took a night to do - great return (and even better as it was a fundraiser!). In total my donations made around $550 and I have a commissioned piece to do (I did one of my famous fairies that sold to a teenager, not a little girl! - and I now have to do one for another teen in purples and blues)...I'm definitely keeping busy

Building a Treehouse

Ok, not exactly as you'd think...a cardboard one - set for hours of school/kindy holiday fun!
Here's the painting stage...

The Lily decided to wash herself REALLY well with the warm soapy water...

And Lachie had fun playing with his lunch!

Helpful? Husband

Here's Mike after offering to finish folding the washing...snoring so loud even Honey (the outside dog!) can't sleep!

Jessica's 5th Birthday Party

Well worth driving through the night for! Don't like missing parties!
Some of Lachie's friends from school were also there (Jessica starts school at Onga after the holidays, making 3 girls in the class of mostly boys!) Resembles Hawkes Bay's "Great Long Lunch"
Happy Birthday Jessie!Oh, and a great effort by Liz! We love fairy castles!

Our "Spare" Day

I was asked to attend a forum on Monday night in Wellington, and as we were already there, it wasn't too hard to stay on, hense Mike's bus trip...well worth going AND it meant we had a "spare" day to explore! A birthday party Tuesday morning also meant a long drive home through the middle of the night (with a lot of CD's, Lift+ and a bit of chocolate!)
*
Here's my favourite photo of the weekend - just wanted to put it first! Started the day visiting Toby, James and Rachel (and seeing Aunty Jayne) - the view from the new deck...
Eden liked the "cage"
The two little ones (guess who's littler though!) got full-reign for a while...
While Eden teased Aunty Jayne...
Through the nets...
Then full-on invasion!
After that we went on the cable car..."Can we have one of those in Waipuk?"
Then Te Papa where Eden made lots of friends as usual - this is one of the cute ones! A bit of caving...
Digging up dinosaur bones...
More archeology...
And even juice and crackers!
The cool glass tunnel...
And of course Lily found somewhere to dance! Joined by Lachie...
Finally those big kids moved on!
And that yummy gelato place nearby is still going! Back to the car quickly as it was still cold outside...
Ready for saint Cathie to babysit the girls while Lachie went and hung out at Shaun and Joe's apartment while I was at my meeting! And everyone had fun! Home at 2am...another very efficient trip! (Bit tired now though)

Junglerama

Having fun with James for his 1st birthday - except it's not much fun being sick on your birthday, Toby was fun too! Lachie showing June (Toby and James' gramdmother) how clever he is...over and over... Eden and I climbed up here and went down the long spiral slide so many times! And Lily found time to practise her dancing steps!
Then we put Mike on a bus home and went to the park (after huge sleeps) to wait for Cathie to finish work; then Burger Fuel for dinner, just to make Mike jealous!

All set for an early night!

Kirstyn's Party

Although it was freezing in Wellington, it was a very warm restaurant and even warmer club later! You can tell from the photos we had a great night!
Happy 30th Kirstyn!
Is this your new profile pic for Facebook Mike?
Cake...yes, we all sung (as Kirstyn buried her head!) The night went more like this....blurry!
And ended like this...goodbye's are hard!
Oh, and we caught up with Shaun too!
And I found this really amusing on the way back on the train...no apples, no drinks, no ice-creams and NO PEA SANDWICHES! I'm over it now though!
