HB vs Windy Wellington

Had a mixed trip to Wellington. Left a reasonable day after hearing about what was happening in Waikato and down South. Got to Palmy (eventually) over the Pahiatua Track where we went swimming. It was great fun and the kids were then tired enough to sleep all the way to Wellington. A quick shopping trip to North City in Porirua where I knew we could get Lachie something cool to wear on Thursday (watch this space!!!), then arrived at the caketin to beautiful blue skies and a "fresh breeze" (I remember the Welly lingo!)
We arrived quite early (and wondered if the stands would fill up much more...they did!)
Spotted some people who managed to get themselved an invite to the Deloitte Lounge (but chose to sit with us though)
After a bit of banter with the WRFU oldies (one of whom was hassling Dannevirke High School, Mike stood up for his old school!)
Went to see Toby, Aunty Jayne and Uncle Sam; and that's Mike, Kate and Sophie in the background (who "shared" passes and Sophie enjoyed the warmth of the Deloitte Lounge!)
Game started great, and we sat on the edge of our seats til the last whistle - yelling at the ref to keep warm! It was a freezing wind (although admittedly I didn't put my jacket over my rugby shirt (over 3 thermals!) til right at the end - very brave HB people in front wearing singlets most of the game - obviously form tropical Hawkes Bay!
Well done boys...almost a win again! And Lachie's "BIG GAME" next weekend, running the ball onto the field against Taranaki; then off the Auckland in the school holidays - Eden's looking forward to going to "her park" (Eden Park)
