The Week Before...

Lachie's school prizeiving...getting his Year 2 awardLily is so into wearable art, and has spent a lot of time over the past few weeks designing clothes...here's her latest creation (will add the photo of the jeans with the t-shirt from her kindy blog). Sharon (a teacher) took it home to iron it ready for her to wear on Friday (not because I don't iron thank you, but because it was still wet on Wednesday when we were leaving!) On Friday morning she just wore a singlet to kindy in anticipation. Eden knew this was going on and got the skirt she wanted to wear to kindy out of the ironing pile and then said "it's ok, Sharon can take it home and iron it for me!". Gave Sharon a giggle too!Lily had her Playcentre party, with Rosie who turns 5 next week. Although this may look like Christmas cake decorating, it's actually (Lily decided) red for OngaOnga School, and green for Sherwood School (where Rosie's going)
Rosie and Lily getting sung to...and the mini butterfly cakes they decorated themselves
And the other week I taught pre-schoolers (and parents!) how to ice mini Christmas cakes with almond paste, then white icing then decorate...the kids loved it (and some parents too!)
Lily and Eden's efforts (Lily made one for Lachie too)
Lachie helped me make yummy chocolate truffles, which we promptly gave most away to Grandmalana and Grand-dad Tom and Claire and a very hungover Phillip! But kept a few each for us! Lachie can probably make them on his own now...if he doesn't eat all the mixture first! And speaking of cakes, here's the really quick one I did for our special lunch with Lily, Jimmy, Joan and John before they left (I cut it then decided to take the photo)
And the one I made for the kindy raffle...made in a day and iced the next day (no soaking fruit or letting layers harden...oppps!)
