Spontaneity

Lachie had the day off Kindy so we could go out to watch the 7's tournament at Onga - his last day off, as he starts 5 days next week.
So then...
A spontaneous trip to Napier for the afternoon.
First, a wander along the boardwalk...

Then a visit to the Aquarium as it looked like rain outside.

This is as close as Lily wanted to get to the shark on her first encounter...Lachie and he are old friends!

Lily did like tickling these fishes bellies

We were lucky to see very active kiwis

And a close encounter with a starfish

Who's this?!

Lily discovered where baby sharks come from...

And Lachie and Lily showed Eden where to find Nemo and Dory!
Eden loved the crocodile, also very active today
And a back-hander from Lachie to show him who's boss!
I think the croc was just as interested in the kids!
Lily's there, just behind my legs any time the big fella moved!Eden loved riding the moving walkway
Time to go now (via the gift shop!)
It was great having the whole place to ourselves...twice!
Then on the way home Lachie spotted these kite surfers and wanted a closer look, until I stepped out of the car into the wind!

And he hasn't asked for one...yet!

Perhaps I should also mention the first spontaneous move of the day; on our way to Waipawa from Onga, I spotted a goat and a kid on the side of the road. I stopped so Lachie could sing to them one of Grand-dad's classics...

"The higher up the mountain the greener grows the grass, down came the billy goat sliding on his..."

You'll have to get him to sing it to you one day...He and Grand-dad would have been best buddies!
