Great day for the Bike Jam in Napier. Usually it's sunny and hot but this year has been quite wet and was still overcast. I was pleased as I was running the 3.2km to make sure Eden was ok ("good" 4 year olds could do it this year, she was sooooo excited!).
Lily wanted to ride at the front of the pack...here she's edging her way to the front of the start line, while telling everybody that asked "I'm actually 6" - it's neverending!...the last I saw of her!
Eden all ready too!We were about the middle but I thought I saw Lachie through the trees so slowed down to take photos...took about 6 because each time I pushed the button he disappeared behind a tree! We ended up at the back of the pack, not a bad thing, did I mention I was running!?!?!Bit "Gorilla's in the Mist" but I was hot! Eden attempted the "stunts" (Lachie's word)
Waiting in line to "fly" down the track and through a huge puddle/little river (heard it called both!). Eden did "fly" down the hill, then stopped, probably because she realised the water would have been over her wheels! We went round a shallower part!
Great job guys! You deserve those medals! What awesome fun!
Eden's first Bike Jam medal, well first medal actually!
Lachie's 4th Bike Jam medal, total of 7 now!
Lily's 2nd bike Jam medal, total of 3 now (her ballet one was her first)
MUD! I parked carefully when we arrived, edge of the paddock so I could get out easily. Right by our car grew a large mud track (and mud all over the side of the car too hehe!), took a bit of work and some prayers, but didn't need to bother anyone for a push thankgoodness! Kids might as well enjoy it!

They knew it was coming...and have been designing and getting me to make their outfits for weeks!
This kid is the coolest! He's been talking about donating his $100 sports voucher that he won at the first triathlon, to a school in Christchurch but didn't know how to do it. When he read that the school were raising money to send to a school in Christchurch he was able to put his voucher in the box! Coincidentally, when he got home he found a new iPod in the post! Eden and I went to Dora on stage at the Napier Municipal Theatre
And went out for lunch with Anna and Ana and Claire and her Mum too (and then "forgot" to get groceries! Oh well, there's always tomorrow!)
Oh, and Happy Birthday Uncle Nathan!! If you were here we would have taken you to Dora too!

Which has nothing to do with the triathlons Lachie's been doing!
1. Aunty Margie's 50th
2. Aunty Margie and Uncle Paul's 28th wedding anniversary
3. Housewarming
Plus a bit of Irish! I absolutely LOVE big family gatherings! Fun with Sophie...Thanks Kate and Mike for babysitting! Hehehe

Someone was going to do it one day...happened to be Lily. She slammed her fingers in the car sliding door, good. Well bad actually! Luckily they weren't broken, but took a trip to the doctor the following day to find that out after an "inconclusive" trip to the nurse that afternoon. She didn't feel like going to school after the doctors (was only fine with Pamol and ibuprofen, real pain otherwise) so we did all the baking for the school's weekend fundraiser, made the last two of six cakes for the weekend and made and iced this one for Julie, the dancing teacher. It is a wonder she still managed to go to dancing and did her best ever and got the trophy! (I wonder if the cake helped!)
The kindy Move-a-thon that night. First a picnic dinner - thanks to Lachie for the yummy pies he made while we were at dancing!
Eden decorated her bike and helmet at kindy during the day...new helmet needed anyway!
Ready to go! Lachie had planned to ripstik but the grass was too long. He didn't really need to wear his helmet to push Cooper round the course! Lily did ok at scootering, one hand and two fingers!

Lachie's was the box of tissues.
Lily's was nailpolish (and thankfully her toenails!).
Eden's was felt pens and the (regularly sanded) coffee table.
Here's Cooper's!
We were all watching a youtube clip of the flashmob doing Riverdance at Sydney Grand Central (3 times) when Cooper went off and found (middle of the bench, still in the supermarket bag with the groceries!) the chocolate we had bought on the way home, for Aunty Margie's cake.
Check out that proud face!
Enough said!!!

Only really needs one word to describe this whole post...PLAYCENTRE!
Outfit number 1 (changed as this was too messy to have morning tea in, and thought the painting was all finished!) Round 2... Painting paper - check. Painting hands - check. Painting clothes - check. Painting anything else - check! Good idea Mum, give the kid a bucket of warm soapy water and a few rags! (Just stand back!) Whoops, bit slippery!
FUN!
