When I got to kindy to pick Eden up she was busy making herself a hat - she had heard the kids talking about the disco this morning!

My birthday

Great birthday. Heaps of facebook messages, texts, e-mails and phone calls and kids' cards(thanks!) and Mike learned (again..will he EVER actually learn???) that if you don't buy your wife a present, you have to take her shopping; and if she holds up two things and says "which do you think?" the correct answer is BOTH!
And don't give him any credit for the cake either! It's a "magic" one (magically appears...out of the freezer!) The kids' decorated it with the last flowers from Kate and Jono's wedding! And to finish off the day we had school interviews (of course both kids are loved by their teachers, and doing really well in their classes!) followed by a fancy dinner out, wait hold on, NO MIKE DIDN'T DO THAT EITHER! I made pizza with the kids before Mum and Dad came round with actual presents in wrapping paper with ribbons and all...one day Mike, one day I'll get such a shock...!!!

Childrens' Day

Whatever the kids want...right?!
Well, it's only for one day (but isn't every day childrens' day???)
I think Cooper possibly had the best job!
Please note: chocolate cake, cupcakes and icecream WERE NOT the only things we did that day!!!

School Triathlon

All I can say about Lily is that she seems to have the whole school wrapped round her little finger! Had it been a run/swim she would have done pretty well, but she didn't do much of the bike because there are lovely big girls happy to push her round! They got sore backs as Mike cut a good several inches out of Lachie's old bike last year so Lily could actually reach the ground (I did the paint/decorate job!). Spot her doing the run (see what she's up against!!!)
Admittedly she did bike the first part, because I was there telling the big girls that she CAN do it (after trying to run the principal down first!)
And unfortunately, all her swimming lessons haven't helped her reach the bottom of the school pool...it's deeper than the town pool.
Lachie took off...loves the bike part
second run, to the pool...
And the swim

No placing, but no dramas either...roll on the Go Kidz this weekend (again)

Week Before the Tsunami warning

Just forgot to upload these photos. Stayed away from the beach last weekend (first in ages) but Eden, Cooper and I went on Tuesday - all was fine then!
"Eeeedennnn..." (where's her hearing gone? *sigh*)
Bit of a competition going on...luckily (for the kids) Mummy didn't get involved!

We found a little crab (the no nipper kind) running along the tideline...Eden wanted photos for David... No, she didn't want to bring it home! Was a loooooong shower that night!

Saturday

How ofter does an Air Force Hercules land literally 500m from your house? Had to go and check it out... Lachie and Eden (Lily was at a birthday party) getting comfy, waiting for a look inside the cockpit

Eden's little friend Angus (whose Mum is ex Air Force) already thinks he can drive one of these things! Lachie believed the guy who told Angus nto to push that button or the wings will fall off!
An Iroquois wasn't far away either!
Checking out the Lowe Corporation Rescue Helicopter (that often comes out to Dad's work)
Lily didn't mind at all, she had a great time at Grace's party! (And now I have a wee building project in mind!)
Eden preferred to dress-up like a princess and watch the airshow from the front yard (photo for Lucy!)
Lily and her million-different-ways sarong...one of the ways, the mermaid tail...
Oh, and last week Cooper completely conquered stairs! Was so pleased with himself! But it's not making my plans for a second story happen any faster!

And looks like we wont be going to the beach this afternoon like every other Sunday night (thanks to the tsunami warning)...Mike will be excited after work though, he loves doing firewood! (And we like trailer rides!)
