Sydney Fun

Just a quick message to say we're having the best time in Sydney! It's so cool here! Lachie's favourite thing was all the train rides, until yesterday when we all patted koalas; Lily likes bananas and strawberries...and the zoo, the ferry, Luna Park, everything actually. Yesterday we went to North Sydney, Lavendar Bay to church at St Francis-Xaviers where Mum and Dad were married, almost 35 years ago. Today we move out to Menai for the WYD week experience. We have packed so much of the city into the last two days, Lachie's already realising how hard it's going to be to write enough stories when he gets back to school!
Sorry, no photos because I'm trying to be quick.
See you all in a few weeks!

Our Practice Pilgrimage

After I walked home from Onga last Tuesday (15 km in 3 hours) I had this "great" idea of doing it again...so this afternoon a group of us (including some of Bill's Napier group) walked another route, 12km in an almost freezing wind and lovely sun...finishing with dinner at our place, that wasn't too bad (if I do say so myself), definitely great company anyway!
Here's the cake I made for this morning...(through the glad wrap sorry)...

Half way point, still going strong...

Eden getting a better view than the rest of us - Lily spent much of the time imaging she was going over the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Lachie did a lot of scootering - will be one of our first purchases in Sydney!

And nearly home with the sun setting

Sydney, here we come!

Fairies

Have gone back to painting because I love fairies at the moment (in between knitting the girls big a fluffy jacket) - well, I don't SEE them like Lily does! And I definately don't FEED or TALK to fairies!
And now I'm going to try and post-date blog, so if you can see Hayley's presents before tomorrow, then it didn't work!

Cool Dudes...

Lachie showing his first school report - on the Pukeko. And his story about rugby last week got in the school newsletter too.
He wrote "I scored a try at rugby. I feel proud. Then we made hot date scones for lunch. Yummm"
And the boys showing off their "Team NZ" hoodies for Sydney - watch out, we'll all look a bit scary turning up in these en masse! (Lily's is at the dressmakers (aka Nannie's) getting remodelled!)
This time next week we'll be on our way to Sydney!

Our Littlest Jumper

We all love jumping here, but for the last few weeks, Eden's just been jumping anywhere and everywhere!
Mike took these...

Such a little poser when she see's a camera!

Here's the rainbow we saw heading out to Onga this morning...it was heaps brighter than it looks, and almost as pretty as the one on the way home.

Shaggy Cheeky Honey

Honey found a new place to sit on the way back from school...the girls thought it was funny!

Then we took her to the "day spa" so she's not as shaggy now, and gets a lot more time in front of the fire!

(P.S. not good photos as I took them while driving, but pretty good if you realise I wasn't even looking!)

Then the Heaven's Opened

Lightning and thunder this afternoon so the girls had an exciting time watching the rain out the window. (There is a good reason for the hats...watch this space next Monday!)
5 minutes worth...
Then it got almost sunny, so gummies on for jumping in the puddles!
And jumping on the wet tramp (just don't tell Nannie! - that's how I broke my arm, way back)

Funny Story...

Lily's been unwell with one of her uncontrolable fevers over the weekend...still, dosed up on medicine, here's the conversation we had yesterday morning (I had to write it down so I remembered it word for word!)
"Lily, how are you feeling?"
"Well, I'm not feeling drinky, and I'm not feeling hungry, I'm feeling like get stuffed."
"Pardon!? How do you feel?"
"Like getting stuff out"
(This is as I was emptying the dishwasher - she only wanted to help!)
Looking a bit better today, looking after her doll who's now not feeling well.
Luckily I'm not looking after all her unwell dolls and teddies; and Lachie's not too bad right now - several ear infections and over a month of antibiotics (so far), and Mike's trying hard to pretend he's fine too (work's dealing with him today!).
Eden's loving her "big girls" bed, like Lily - on Friday afternoons try-to-sleep, I found them in each others beds - not asleep obviously, just talking! I suppose they've got years of that ahead of them. They talk themselves and each other to sleep every night! Next ear check-up for her this week (think it'll be all good). And a night-out for me tomorrow!

Next Cake...

A girly 21st cake for one of the kindy teacher's daughters...all edible (except for the ribbons) and sparkly (I love sparkly things if you hadn't noticed!)

And guess which is Eden's favourite part!

A couple of hopefuls...
