Taupo - Day 3

We stayed at the Lake Taupo Motor Inn - very nice, probably big enough to stay a few weeks even. Lachie and Lily slept in the same room, that was very successful - could think about that for one day in the future...

The best couple of dollars spent - books and felt pens for when we're getting organised in the mornings!

Day 3 was the compulsory shopping day! Walked to town, wandered round the shops, yummy lunch...then spent the afternoon down at the lake (while Eden had a sleep)...
Kids needed a little drive (nap-time) then woke to see a helicopter take off! Lachie and I missed the horse trekking by half an hour, so we already have plans for next time! A quick drive to look at Huka Falls (Lachie remembers them from last time)
After dinner (and after dessert!) we "needed" a trip to the park, even if it was 8 o'clock!

Up in the Rotorua Sky - Day 2

Had to do the gondolas - Lily thought she was flying (you know she's desperate to fly!)
We didn't realise the kids could go with us on the luge and the chairlift! That was so much fun!
That says SLOW Mikey!
After several gondola rides and a couple of luge rides each we headed down for the last time - explaining to the kids that we can't have one in our back yard (what about a flying fox, Daddy?). Lachie and Lily waved to everyone heading up...
Eden was exhausted!
While in Rotorua, I made a trip to Harvey Norman's and bought a 1GB Memory card for my camers! 595 photos!

Rotorua - Day 2

We figured it would be hard to have 4 action-packed days in Taupo (no relaxing on this holiday!) so a day in Rotorua was planned. First stop - Paradise Valley. Feeding the first few pools of trout was exciting, but luckily there were other attractions too!
+Including all the attractions of a farm, sheep (baa baa black sheep at the top of Lily's voice!), goats, donkey, alpacas, birds, bit hard to explain the wallabies though - fun to feed!
These lion cubs are 5 weeks old, the kids acted like they were the neighbours kittens, but it really was cool!
The main lion park was a bit inactive - hot sunny day and all - lying in the sun would have been a good idea!
