Visiting Granny

Granny enjoyed seeing Eden and Lily today.

We took her a bunch of daffodils out of the garden for Daffodil Day. And it was such a beautiful day in Napier. They had just cleaned out the fish pond, so the fish had nowhere to hide!
Eden had a go with someones walker, bit bigger than hers!
Then this afternoon we had some fun outside waiting for Daddy...Honey was in a cheeky mood...(still looking shaggy!)
She kept smushing into Eden - who was then in fits of laughter while racing away... Joyriding in the new white bomb...

There's Something About a Magpie

We went to watch the Magpies take on Auckland at McLean Park.

Lachie absolutely loved it and learned way more about the rules of the game than by reading books or watching tv (or watching the neighbours kids play!) We took Russell (Lachie's friend Livvy's 8-year old brother) with us.

It rained solidly all the way up, and as we got out of the car and quickly put on jackets...then it stopped! The rain started again just as we drove off after the game! We walked the whole way round before getting hot dogs and chips (compulsory apparently!) and the game starting. Here's Lachie watching the boys warm up...and just to name-drop, Mike's old mate, MJ (Michael Johnson) who was playing his 100th first-class match.
Almost everyone was wearing black or black and white stripes (except for the few who braved wearing blue!) - I thought I was a cool supporter in white until Auckland ran out wearing white jerseys! Luckily I had the appropriate scarf!

Lachie loved it! He didn't get bored or tired (my two main worries - M&M's helped I'm sure!)
Magpies first points, a penalty after Auckland had already scored two unconverted tries.
Daddy needed warming up...
Hawkeye (that we grew up with) is now called Kahu. He disappeared through a door for a while, Lachie sat puzzling about how a magpie goes to the toilet...
Very cool night. Lily's desperate to go too now; she's been singing "something 'bout Magpie, something 'bout Magpie, something 'bout Magpie, zat's FINE FINE FINE!" all week!
There's an early home game coming up next month...

Off to Kindy Again

Lily was very excited about going to Kindy again today, especially with her new kindy bag - Lachie calls it her All Blacks bag!

BIG Rain

The kids wanted to go and meet Daddy at the gate and have a ride in his (yet another) new bomb. It was raining pretty hard so I put Mike's and my jackets on them.

Lily was actually walking on mine unless she had her arms up, but she wasn't deterred at all!

Would have been fine if Mike hadn't surprised us by walking in the door 10 minutes early! He hadn't checked the mail though, so they all had a wee drive up and down the drive...

Cornwall Park

Few errands in Hastings, then some free time on a sunny day...just as well we had the bikes in the car!

And then on the way home, Lily drew her favourite part of the day...you know...no, I don't either, but will ask her in the morning!

Fun Outside

Nothing much to do on a beautiful (post frost!) morning, except bubbles, jumping and laughing (which comes with compulsory photo taking) Static hair!

Lachie took this one of Honey (2 months overdue for a haircut, but we don't want her too shaved again...stalling). Every morning, especially in the frost, she runs around smushing her face into the frost grass - hence the muddy feet and face, two hours later!)
Eden got smushed too!

She just wants Honey!
Footnote: I know "smush" isn't a word, but it's amazing how many times it's the perfect word for what I mean!

Princess Lily

Lily's friend Patrick (and Breana and Lucia) came to visit. Lily was excited, so put on her best pearls! Not sure who the pucker was for!

Girls in Havelock

After a tough morning shopping, we headed to Havelock for lunch (as the girls aren't as obsessed by restaurants that only serve little toys as someone else we know!!)
Lily chose the only pink thing at the bakery, just for the icing...

...while Eden munched on a ciabatta roll.
Then out for a spot of sightseeing...

There was a cute little boy eating lunch with his Mum by the fountain…

While walking down the streets, Lily started pointing out cars…not cars in general, but very specifically any late model (2005 or later) European cars – that were clean! She stopped for ages by a shiny silver Mini Cooper saying “brutiful, brutiful car”

We got to Kindy to find only this clown wanting to come home with us!

Let's just hope the All Blacks don't come out looking like this in a few weeks!
