Day at the Park

It stopped raining while we were in Hastings doing a bit of shopping, so we stopped off at Cornwall Park. Here's a few pics...

This was fun...set the camera on 10 second delay then we raced across to the other bench and try and look composed! This is the best after about a dozen "races"
Only a Dad would do it...Mike took the kids into a toyshop and said "what do you guys want?" Lily straight away said "a pussy cat", I'm just pleased they weren't in a pet shop! Lachie got a monster truck and DVD. Lily hasn't put her pussy cat down since...and like she always has, she still sleeps with puppy as well...and Glo-e-bear and boy baby and girl baby...

Kindy Disco

We went to the Kindy Disco tonight, the theme was "Under the Sea".

Lachie wanted to be a "boatman" (sailor) and has spent most of the week making his boat.

Lily just wanted to go swimming, bit hard for her to understand why she had to wear tights and a thermal under her togs! Of course, she did find some water to "play" in, so she was happy!

Eden was a "baby shark" and I was "Mummy shark", fortunately there were no photos taken that I'm aware of! Eden loved floor dancing with everyone!

And very cool teachers! (Penguin and Mermaid here). I'm sure they danced all night!We're all totally exhausted now! Maybe we'll all get a sleep in with Mike tomorrow....

Just Fun

Yes, so Mike's been on nights this week so that means at least one "photo night"!

I need a photo for a Parents Centre thing, so set up the tripod and Lachie took the photos on time delay, even sometimes managing to keep the camera pointed at us!

More cakes...

Very priveledged, I was allowed to ice David and Hannah's Christening cakes. I had so many ideas though, I could have done them over and over...

Now I'm on the lookout for wedding cakes that need decorating...

Naughty Daddy

Someone needs to tell Mike that Eden's only 6 months old - his fault she's already a chocolate addict!Even her own to hold...When all she really wanted was the stick
Licked clean all by herself!
Super happy afterwards though!

Lachie's "Day Off"

Because Lily was at a friends place on Friday, Lachie said it was his "day off" - not seeming to realise that he's had 3 weeks off Kindy! He's looking forward to going back next week though!

On his "day off" we did a painting (for the bathroom, I'll show you the finished products soon!)

We made chocolate bubble cakes for a friends birthday (but kept a few to share with Lily!)

Then we went digging for daffodil bulbs and today we re-planted them with some tulip bulbs

Lily helped in the garden too today, then she went for a ride, more fun for Lachie I think! Eden just hung outside on a tarp with her toys, loving the outdoors!

Very successful few days, especially as the front yard's now looking tidy and will be full of colour come spring! And even more rewarding for Mike as he's been working all day today (and going back tomorrow - he's in the middle of 13 straight days) so can sit down for a beer without having to mow the lawns!

Lily had fun the other day helping me ice Eden's half birthday cake (well licking the beaters was her specialty!)

Easter Renovations

We had a great trip away, not the most relaxing holiday, but felt like a few weeks (with only 2 loads of washing - yay!) Now into the serious stuff! Saturday we started to build our new wardrobe (that actually fits stuff in it!)...We spent a few days building, I was even allowed to use Mike's new drop saw! And strangely enough I've been doing almost all the plastering...

Here's a few "during" photos...Dad told Lachie that the top cupboard is his new bedroom - he was excited until he realised....

Of course, here you can't see the shelves that I built (most of) while Mike took the kids for a walk after dinner last night! Actual wardrobe size is around 1600 x 1100 (haven't got a cat to swing to see if it's big enough for that!)

The Easter Bunny drew clues as to where the Easter eggs were hidden, each clue led to another egg or two...and at the last hiding place were a big pile of.............................books (yes, and a few eggs!)

Craters of the Moon - Day 4

It's not quite how I remember it from about 20-odd years ago, still kids enjoyed it, Lachie tried to get his head around the "how" and "why"...

...and it doesn't really smell nearly as bad as I remember either (that must have been Daddy, Lachie!)

After lunch we had a great trip home, 3 kids asleep again...home to do some serious demolition in our bedroom!
